Raw larch trunks implanted to form an “interior forest”.

The staircase is the centrepiece of the chalet: it was made to form an “interior forest” from raw larch trunks cut locally from the mountains. The natural oak steps are of different lengths and are fixed into the trunks, providing access to the three floors.

The structured sawn oak flooring has a natural oiled finish.

The walls and sliding pocket doors are clad in old wood.

a cosily sophisticated atmosphere…

Each uniquely custom-made piece of furniture – beds, wardrobes, dining table, bathroom furniture, DJ and HiFi console…- was created in association with the client. The modern stained structured oak veneer of the furniture blends in perfectly with the warmth of old wood, giving this mountain chalet a more contemporary dimension.

The structure of an old timber framework was recycled to create a partition between the master bedroom and its en-suite bathroom.

Almost all the lighting is integrated and hidden in the furniture, giving each room a cosily sophisticated atmosphere.
